Did you see my Magical Christmas Snowflake card from December 6th? Well these are the matching cards I made first. After making half a dozen of these cards, the little bit of paper I had left was what I used on that card. I love it – no wasting beautiful paper!
This card is a great example of how to make a bunch of cards, quickly and easily, that still look amazing! I started with a piece of patterned paper from the BoBunny Whiteout paper collection. On its own this paper design is stunning, so I decided not to cover it up with any elements.
First, I cut a strip of sparkly vellum paper and stamped it with a holiday sentiment in Versamark ink. Then I heat embossed it using Recollections Sapphire Pearl embossing powder. On top of that I added a thin strip of champagne glittered cardstock from The Paper Studio. These were attached to the very bottom of a navy card base. Then I placed a large rectangular piece of my stunning patterned paper on top. It doesn’t need gems or sequins, stamps or bows, it’s so sparkly all by itself and the blue colour is so bright and glorious that it really stands out.
In no time at all I was able to make six versions of this card, and the technique can be replicated with any patterned paper you might really want to feature. So don’t be afraid to cut that paper – put it to use and create something beautiful!
