Do y’all remember that die cut nutcracker card I made a few weeks back? Well, while I liked it, it was a bit labour intensive. But, while surfing around Simon Says Stamp I saw this stamp from Woodware Craft Collection. Of course I loved the stamp, but it was also perfect for my slimline nutcracker card idea – not to mention a great price point.
When my stamp finally arrived I couldn’t wait to stamp him on my Spectrum Noir cardstock and colour him in using my alcohol markers. Then I created a mask for my nutcracker so I could add a little bit of ink blend “glow” behind my nutcracker with my blending brushes. I also added a few Nuvo Crystal Drops for buttons on his boots and jacket.
Once the main focal point was done, all that was left was to assemble my card. I cut a full slimline card base cover from one of the Recollections Christmas Plaids paper. Then I placed my nutcracker on the top of my card and added a stamped sentiment at the very bottom from the same stamp set.
I’m so excited at how amazing this turned out!
