I was inspired to make this card before my kit even arrived in the mail. Truth be told, I had a lot of time to come up with design ideas while I waited for my kit to make it’s way all the way to the East Coast of Canada. The Pony Express is running a little slower these days with Covid and Holiday deliveries in the mix.
I really loved this apple paper design, and I had just purchased the Concord & 9th Friendship Farm dies on sale at Simon Says Stamp. I thought the two combined, would make a beautiful fall harvest card. I adhered a panel of the designer paper from the kit on a standard A2 card base. Then I used the frame from the Concord & 9th dies to cut both a frame and shadow panel to size.
I then used the same Concord & 9th dies to cut out the layers of the apple barrel basket. I used different colours of cardstock, as will as some Distress Ink and Distress Oxides to shade and give dimension to each piece. I centered my apple barrel on my frame panel, and then stamped two sentiments from the Simon Says Stamp Fall Frenchies stamp set in Stampin’ Up Close to Cocoa ink.
Finally, I put a thin strip of burlap ribbon down the center of my card and placed my frame focal point on top. I love how this turned out. It’s a little late to send fall cards now, but I will definitely keep it in my stash to send next fall!
