So the inspiration for this card came from two places – the fact that I had a bunch of plaid Christmas paper that I wanted to find a use for, and a card designed by Shari Carroll for the Simon Says Stamp Blog. You can find her original trio of cards here.
I started with my plaid patterned paper and matched it up with some Bazzill and Recollections cardstock. Then I took my newly received Stained Glass Greetings stamps from Simon Says Stamp, inked in versamark and embossed with WOW! Primary Apple Red embossing powder.
I added a few pine branch punches sticking up to give it a border and then made them sparkly but apply some Spectrum Noir glitter pen to them.
Lastly, I added a few sequins from Recollections to jazz the card up a bit. It’s a little closer to the original design than I typically like to go, but it was so beautiful a card that I couldn’t resist.
