I’ve seen so many versions of this card/technique on Pinterest that I really didn’t know who to credit with the original idea. That said, I can’t take credit for this design because it’s really an idea gleaned from all the fabulous crafters out there who have posted similar cards.
I started with the background, using varying shades of blue distress ink to blend a background with a glowing circle area where my lamp post would be. Tim Holtz likes to call it “craft cardio” and he isn’t wrong. It takes a lot of elbow grease to blend those colours together and get the right look.
Once done, I sprinkled it with some white paint to give it a subtle snow falling feel. Then I added my snowy mounds and lamp post, decorated with pine boughs for the holidays.
