Witch Way to the Candy

I bought this stamp set after Halloween last year so I didn’t get to use it right away. As soon as I started my Halloween cards for 2019, this stamp set was the first one I pulled out to play with.

I started by stamping all my characters on Spectrum Noir alcohol ink paper in Memento Black ink. Then I coloured them all in using my Spectrum Noir alcohol markers. It really is worth it to buy a quality paper intended for alcohol ink colouring for the best results.

After fussy cutting them out with a little white border, I needed to create my spooky Halloween scene. Using a variety of Distress Inks and Distress Oxide Inks, I created this night sky background. I added a big yellow moon that I cut out of yellow cardstock using the Simon Says Stamp Stitched Circles die.

To add to the spooky scene I stamped a spooky fence stamp in the background. Sorry, I have no idea who made this stamp, I picked it up at a yard sale years ago! Over the fence line I added a row of grass in black using the Sizzix Grass Die.

Once my background was done I was ready to pop my little characters on top. I played with the layout until I got a nice scene and just played with the layers and various thicknesses of foam tape to pop them up.

I stamped a sentiment from the same My Favorite Things stamp set on a strip of black cardstock and embossed it in white. Then I popped it up on foam tape over the big full moon and this card was done – ready for sending.
