It’s December 1st, and that means Christmas Cards! I have so many designs to share for 2018 that it was hard to pick where to start.
I called this card Three Candles, but I could have easily called it three tries, because that’s how many different techniques I used on this candle die before I finally got something I liked.
My first attempt was in red foil, which promptly got discarded. My second – a build up of several dies in red cardstock, but that didn’t work either. However, I managed to save that version by putting one final layer on top in gold foil. And just to be clear, this isn’t the thin foil you can use in your Minc machines – this was almost like a metallic paper, so heavy enough to withstand die cutting.
When I put the whole card together I still wasn’t loving it – not until I added the green cardstock frame die, and suddenly it went from plain and simple to really pretty.
