The Wild Berry Wreath Embossing Folder Christmas Card Set

I was inspired to make this card set by Cathy MacAuley who made a beautiful card very similar to the red version shown above. I tweaked mine a little, but really, with an embossing folder as stunning as this one, there isn’t a lot you need to do to make it really stand out.

I made the red versions first, embossing some red cardstock with Wild Berry Wreath embossing folder. Then I used Tim Holtz Foundry Wax in Gold to highlight the embossed image. I also added a shadow around the edge – and on the red card, this is where I learned why Distress Oxides shouldn’t be used for this technique. While I was looking for a darker shade of red to just create a shadow, what I ended up with was something a bit more chalky. For the green version, I followed all the same techniques, but used a dye ink instead and the result is much more the look I was after.

I stamped a sentiment in gold in the middle of both and added a little gold splatter. Stunning.
