I absolutely love these cute little houses from the Simon Says Stamp Home Sweet Home stamp set. Even though this isn’t a winter/Christmas set, I decided to re-purpose it to create a little Christmas village. I stamped the image using Memento Tuxedo Black ink on my Spectrum Noir paper and coloured them in using my Spectrum Noir markers. Then I fussy cut each house out and set it aside.
I created a night sky background by blending some Distress Inks and Oxides on Strathmore Bristol cardstock and splattering it with some white acrylic paint. I added some snow mounds using the Memory Box Stitched Curves dies and then began to build my scene. I added some glitter on the snow mounds and houses to add to the snow covered effect.
I stamped my sentiment in silver embossing powder on the background, although in retrospect, I should have embossed it in white. But, it still works. And finally, I added a reverse rectangle frame over the top.
I absolutely love this peaceful little village. I can imagine the glowing Christmas trees and smell the gingerbread cookies from here! Mmmmm, cookies.
