Snowflake Shaker Card

Flat shakers are all the rage lately – and why not?

  1. You get to reuse packaging, so extra points for reduce, reuse and recycle!
  2. Edge to edge glitter, and let’s face it, the more glitter the better.
  3. And they’re flat, so great for mailing.

I decided to do an emboss resist gradient background. I used the Simon Says Stamp Outline Snowflakes background stamp, stamped it with Versamark embossing ink on Strathmore Bristol paper, and then heat embossed it in white. Then I took some Distress Oxide inks and did an ink blend to create a lovely gradient over the embossed snowflakes.

I took some left over packaging from another stamp set and secured it firmly with Sookwang tape on 3 sides of the background panel. Then I filled it full of glittery goodness and secured the last side.

Finally, I cut several versions of the Simon Says Stamp Eliza Snowflake which I layered up for added dimension. The one on top I covered with fine glitter and added a sentiment strip.
