For the first time ever my Simon Says Stamp card kit came early. I was so excited to be able to post projects before the next kit reveal that I couldn’t wait to jump in and get started. I made a total of 5 different designs and 2 slightly different versions of the same design, but you’ll see that in the detailed photos below. And if you’re a card maker and are not already receiving a card kit, I highly recommend Simon Says Stamp – beautiful kits every time!
I had the idea for this design before my kit even arrived. When I saw the preview of products I couldn’t wait to get these two transparencies to play with. I had to search the Silhouette Design Store for the perfect paint brush design to go with it, and I love it.

I wanted to try using one of the Tim Holtz transparency layers and using it to reveal the sentiment on the front of the card, but also on the inside. I decided to really explore the florals for this Mother’s Day Card. Mom, if you’re reading this, forget you saw this!

I was inspired by this paper, included in the kit, which really drove the design for this card. Even though the paper doesn’t have a metallic finish, the colours just reminded me so much of copper that I decided to highlight that by matching it with copper metallic paper and a copper embossed image.

I wanted to make use of the fabulous transparency layers and sequin mix from the kit for a shaker card. These butterflies were so pretty and perfect for some Hello Spring cards.

I really wanted to make 5 distinct designs from this card kit, but I was a bit stumped to create something unique for my last design. I sorted through the papers a few times and played with layout options, and then I got inspired by the patterned paper with all the leaf sprigs in difference colours. I decided to pull out my fussy cutting scissors and cut out all those little leaf sprigs and layer them up on a wreath. It was a bit of a risk, and definitely time consuming, but I really like how it turned out in the end.
