Sympathy cards often lean towards the simple designs for me. It’s more about the sentiment than anything else at that point. But when time permits, I like to try and move away from the conventional and create cards that aren’t quite as somber and might bring some colour and joy to friends and family.
For this card I chose to use the March 2021 card kit from Simon Says Stamp. It has some lovely spring images and heartfelt sentiments that I thought would suit.
I stamped my image onto some light gray cardstock and then used Distress Inks and Oxides to blend out the colours. I then stamped my window image again on some Spectrum Noir ultra smooth cardstock and used my Spectrum Noir alcohol markers to colour it in. I fussy cut it out and added it over the original stamped image. I also used the bricks from the same stamp set as the windows right on the background and added some alcohol marker shading.
Finally, I added the sentiment circle and sentiment stamp and this card was done.
