Purple Tulips

The Simon Says Stamp Sketch Tulip Bouquet stamp is clearly a personal favourite of mine. I reach for it often, and have made several different cards using it. Funny enough – I have never used it in it’s basic form, a black outline stamp coloured in using markers. I’ve embossed it and painted it in acrylic paint, and I’ve used it for no-line watercolouring, but never on it’s own as just a stamped image.

I pulled out my Spectrum Noir Premium Ultra White cardstock and stamped my image using Memento Tuxedo Black ink. I coloured my tulip blooms using Nuvo Alcohol Markers and the stems using Spectrum Noir Alcohol Markers.

I then took a piece of Strathmore Bristol Smooth Surface paper and did a Distress Ink/Oxide ink blend using Wilted Violet and Shaded Lilac. Once dry, I white embossed the Simon Says Stamp Quilted Hearts background. I layered all the pieces, including a quick sentiment strip, and adhered the entire piece to a standard A2 white card base.

I love how the purple stands out, and the ombre effect in the background is just so pretty. For my friends who are big fans of purple (and you know who you are), you’re going to LOVE this card!
