Great Job Dad

I have flower stamps and pink paper coming out my ears! Masculine cards however, have always been a bit of a challenge for me.

For this card I knew what I wanted the sentiment to be. It’s a bit cheeky because the front says “Great Job Dad” and the inside says “cause I turned out AMAZING!”. I know my Dad will laugh. I wanted the DAD on the front to be big and bold, so I die cut that using my Silhouette Cameo first. I chose black and white, because I had already chosen the paper collection I wanted to use – Carta Bella’s Well Traveled – which uses black, white and a deep red as it’s main colour palette. Originally I was just going to use the die cut on top of a piece of the patterned paper and then a bunch of the ephemera bits from the collection. But then I got the idea to use coffee mugs to go with the coffee shop gift card I was going to put inside.

Once that decision was made the rest of the card came together easily, thanks to the My Favorite Things Hot Cocoa Cups dies.
