We have reached the night before Christmas, and I’m offering an extra card posting today. I would like to say I planned it, but really, I just miscounted – so bonus card!
This is a special one that I wanted to save until the end. I got to use a brand new-to-me stamp set for this card called Cozy Cup by ColorBox. It’s a super fun layering set that lets you build a variety of warm toasty treats in a cup.
I started by stamping all the different layers of my cup on Spectrum Noir Ultra Smooth Premium White Cardstock. I wasn’t sure which ones I was going to colour and which would just be stamped in coloured ink. In the end I used my Spectrum Noir alcohol markers to colour the cup, foam and straws, and just used red ink to stamp the cup holder. I also added a little glitter on the whipped cream, because what is a festive peppermint mocha without a little sparkly sugar right?
Then I used a piece of patterned paper from the Carta Bella Christmas Market paper collection and used it to cover the full front of an A2 kraft card base. Then I used another strip of the kraft cardstock and a slightly smaller strip of white cardstock layered on top to create a center vertical stripe. That allowed me to put my cup of mocha image right in the center of the card and have it pop!
For the sentiment, I used a combination of one of the sentiment stamps from the Cozy Cup stamp set, and a smaller stamp below it in black. The two tone sentiment really creates visual interest on the page, especially because they’re two different fonts put together.
And now that I have reached the last posting for the 2019 Holiday card season, I think it’s time I fixed myself a fancy festive drink to enjoy and celebrate with family.
Happy Holidays everyone, and we’ll see you in the New Year!
