O Holy Night

I purchased a 15.00 magazine just to get the die set featured on this card. I had been on the hunt for a nativity themed stamp/die set for a while, but hadn’t found one I really liked. I was in the bookstore, browsing the craft magazines, as one is want to do, and I saw this set included as a free gift with the purchase of a Paper Craft Magazine. So, I bought it.

For my card, I created a beautiful night sky by blending blue, green and yellow Distress Inks and Oxides. I pulled out a really old northern star stamp set and embossed it in gold embossing powder. But then I decided to add even more sparkle to the night sky with some gold paint splatter.

I used the dies that came with the magazine and cut out my nativity scene and anchored it to the bottom of the card front. I also embossed the sentiment in the bottom right corner with the same gold embossing powder.

My northern star stamp didn’t give a great impression on the cardstock, so I decided to add a rhinestone, coloured with a gold sharpie over the top to add extra sparkle, and cover up where the stamp missed on the card front.

Overall a pretty simple card, but a stunning effect.
