I purchased this Christmas Squad stamp set from a local craft sale a while back. I just loved all the little characters, but scene cards have not, to date, been my strong suit. Well this year I decided to really give ’em a try.
I really wanted to put a fireplace in behind Mr. & Mrs. Claus, but I didn’t have a fireplace stamp. Then I came up with the idea to check the Silhouette Cameo Design Store. I found this beautiful layered fireplace that kind of reminds me of the one at my parents house, so I knew it was the one. I cut out all the pieces from my Cameo, coloured in the pieces using my Spectrum Noir markers, and then assembled it.
For the background, I chose a wood effect pattern for the floor and a pretty patterned paper that Mrs. Claus would surely approve of as wallpaper for her North Pole home. Then I just placed my fireplace in the center and Mr. and Mrs. Claus on either end. I added some pine branch bows and holly berries as mantelpiece decor.
Finally, I stamped a sentiment strip, embossed it in white, and placed it on my card front. This card is just too darn cute for words! Happy Holidays folks.
