When I was a kid I can remember my skates hanging from a hook on the wall right next to my sisters. On Christmas Day we would go skating on the frozen lake, which at this time of year would have been surrounded by mounds of fluffy white snow. Well, we don’t see white Christmases like that anymore, and I haven’t been in a pair of skates since my teenage years, but they bring back fond memories. Perhaps that’s one of the reasons I love this die from Marianne Design: Creatables so much.
I wanted to make a simple card that reminded me of childhood holidays. So I grabbed some plaid cardstock, a bit of shiny deco foil, and this die. The country plaid combined with the foil makes for an interesting contrast on this relatively simple card. And this was truly a family card because I added a few embellishments my sister brought me home from her travels.
