Fall in love

The photo in this layout is an artist rendering I printed from the internet. The little boy in it is so cute and kind of reminds me of my son, and since my husband and I have a long-standing agreement to not post pictures of our son on the internet publicly, this was as close as I was going to get!

This was my first layout for the Sketchabilities Challenge Blog (Challenge #130).

I was eager to try a technique originally showcased by Julie Balzer using Viva Inka Gold through a stencil on black cardstock. It’s quite a dramatic look and one I can see trying again. Inka Gold is an interesting product to work with, and a lot of fun. It comes in some amazingly vibrant colours – here I used gold, red and green. I applied the Inka Gold through a stencil using a make-up sponge, which work really well for application since the product is really the consistency of a lipstick…if you smooshed it and stuffed it into a jar.

Supplies:

Cardstock – Bazzill
Stencils – The Crafters Workshop
Viva Inka Gold
Stickers – Creative Imaginations and Stickopotamus
Key – K&Company
Ribbon, Feather and Grass embellishments – Recollections by Michaels and the Dollar Store
Silhouette Cameo Letters
