I love fireworks! Especially the really great fireworks shows that have so many different colours and styles and a big finale of sparks that fill up the sky. Both my sister and I are summer babies, so sometimes, when the weather cooperates, we can have our own little fireworks show over the lake at my parents home. And as an added bonus, all the other homes around the lake get to enjoy them too.
This was a pretty simple card, starting with an ink blended background. I waited until the ink fully dried, and then stamped and heat embossed several of the firework stamps from the Stampin’ Up Canada Day set. To make the red ones really pop, I first embossed them in Wow Primary Apple Red and then again over that in Stamp n Stuff Red Tinsel. I also added a bit of white acrylic paint splatter on top to give the impression of stars.
I then stamped two characters from the Lawn Fawn Winter Skies stamp set on Spectrum Noir Ultra Smooth Premium White cardstock and coloured them in using my Spectrum Noir Alcohol Markers. I cut a strip of black cardstock and die cut the Sizzix Grass Die and then popped my two little characters on top of the grass using foam squares.
Finally, I added a simple sentiment using sentiment strips I printed off on my computer and this card was done. I’m still on the hunt for the perfect fireworks effect, but this was a good start.
