You see this stamp set on the right? This is the Sunny Studio Berry Bliss stamp set. Super cute right? It makes the most beautiful images using the layered stamp technique and it makes for some lovely cards. Unfortunately, it’s out of stock at most places I shop – including online. And for those in the crafting world, you’ve probably also seen an upswing in lemons lately – it seems to be a new trend and everyone is making papers, stamps and dies using lemons. Unfortunately, I don’t have any of those either. So, what’s a girl to do when she can’t get her hands on the supplies she wants. Well, she improvises and comes up with a plan of her own.
I turned to my Silhouette Cameo and did a little shopping in their online store and found several fruit images that I thought I would try. I prepped and resized, and then cut them all out of one sheet of white cardstock. While they were still adhered to the Silhouette cutting mat, I used my alcohol markers and coloured them in as I needed. Then I proceeded to layered the different pieces of the die cut on top of one another to assemble my fruits.
Once I had an array of coloured and assembled die cuts, I proceeded to play with placement on an A2 card front. I added a strip of pattern paper at the base of the card to ground the die cuts, and added a bit of blue halo or shadow around where the die cuts would lay. Then I glued all my pieces down and finished the card off with a sentiment in the top left corner.
They’re “almost” good enough to eat!
