I remember when I first started seeing cards on Pinterest using this stamp set from Lawn Fawn. They were stunning, and while “scene” cards are not something I make often, I just had to have it. So I ordered it up early in 2019 and have been holding onto it since then, just waiting until I had time to start my Christmas cards.
I started by stamping the little polar bear characters and trees onto Spectrum Noir Ultra Smooth Premium White Cardstock and coloured them in using my Spectrum Noir alcohol markers. Then I fussy cut them out and set them aside while I built my winter scene.
I started with a piece of Strathmore Bristol Cardstock, and using a variety of Distress Ink and Distress Oxide Inks, I created the night sky background – complete with full moon. Then I used my Memory Box Stitched Curves dies to cut out two snowy hills. I edged them with a light blue ink and then a layer of sparkling white glitter.
Once I was sure the night sky background was completely dry, I stamped Santa and his sleigh, speeding across the sky. I also stamped a bunch of the stars from the Lawn Fawn Upon a Star stamp set in Versamark and heat embossed them in white.
Once all the pieces were done, it was just a matter of layering them on top of one another to create this magical scene and adding a thin sentiment banner on top.
I actually made four version of this card, using different colouring on the polar bears each time. So much versatility can be achieved by just changing up the colouring! Here’s a second example:

I definitely see these little critters making a regular appearance during the holidays for many years to come.
