Zombies Love You

So posts have been a little scarce lately, but with good reason. I’ve had my head down, working hard on getting Halloween cards and my assemblage of Christmas Cards completed. I can now say Halloween is done and Christmas…almost.

So I happen to be in Michaels one day and they had a small assortment of Halloween scrapbook products. Among them was a special selective set of stamps and dies from Tim Holtz Zombies stamps. It wasn’t the full set unfortunately, but it was enough to try it out and play with, so I picked it up.

I took inspiration for this card from Amanda Southern and her Zombie Apocalypse card shown here. I had to create my own wood planks, since I don’t have the really cool Tim Holtz/Sizzix Planks Bigz Die. Instead I used the Stampin’ Up/Sizzix Pinewood Planks embossing folder, which I then cut apart to make rough boards. The rest was fairly simple. I stamped the zombie stamps on my Spectrum Noir Ultra Smooth Premium white cardstock and coloured them in with my Spectrum Noir markers. Then I cut them out using the dies that came with the set. I laid the planks out on my card front in a haphazard format, to emulate a rough fence. I placed my zombies, head and hands, peaking out through the broken boards to finish the scene.

The best part of this stamp set though, I feel, is the snarky sentiments! I added one on the front of this card to finish it off, heat embossed in white on black cardstock.

Happy Halloween folks!
