I am absolutely in love with this card. Funny enough, this birdhouse die was not on my radar until I saw it used on a winter card by Kathrin on her blog (see her original card here). While my card doesn’t look much like hers at all, I just like how she used it for a winter card. And for the record, I do not own the Lawn Fawn Magic Iris dies that this is an add-on for. They work great all on their own.
So I pulled out some Simon Says Stamp Slate cardstock – love this colour! I layered the background with some birch tree dies, and then placed my grey and red birdhouse on top. To add extra texture, I ran my birdhouse base and post through a woodgrain 3D embossing folder first, and used a little Distress Ink in Pumice Stone to make the woodgrain pop. I also added snow using light texture paste and sprinkled it with the super sparkly Donna Salazar Fairy Dust Glitter – Clear.
The whole card got a little white splatter to emulate snowflakes, and then I added the sentiment in white embossing powder right to the center of the birdhouse, and perched my little bird right on the edge. It’s glorious!
