So I’m a little late to the Simon Says Stamp November 2020 card kit. I live on the East Coast of Canada, and with shipping being a little bit slower these days, I only recently got my November card kit to play with. That said, better late than never right?
Now I do actually have a Minc foiling machine, but I wanted to do something with the foils that came in the kit that didn’t require a Minc, just to mix it up a little. Jennifer McGuire had done a technique a while back using double-sided tape and glitter – her original card tutorial can be seen here.
I decided to use the same double-sided technique, but instead of glitter, I applied foil. This created an awesome diagonal stripe background design for my card.
Then I heat embossed the “THANKS” stamp that came in the card kit in gold on kraft cardstock and fussy cut each letter out. I used the Simon Says Stamp Stitched Rectangles die to cut a frame, and matted that on a slightly larger square of the Dark Chocolate cardstock that came in the kit.
I placed the letters vertically on the frame, and then added some of the Autumn Sequins from the kit for some extra sparkle – although really, with foil and embossing powder, how much more sparkle do you need. Apparently a bit, because I thought they really complimented the piece.
