Poinsettia Die Cut Spray and Postal Edge Background with Glitter Christmas Card

For a long time I resisted the pull of the Spellbinders Paper Arts dies. I don’t know why – I can’t explain it, but I am so glad I got over that moment! They really make the most amazing dies that you can use together or, as you can see by many of my cards this season, pull elements out of to make amazing cards.

I can’t pinpoint an exact inspiration for this card, because many makers used this die set on top of kraft cardstock, and you can see why. It’s just amazing. I actually used a tan, newspaper print style patterned paper that I added distress ink on the edge of, to make it look more vintage. Then I placed all that on top of a plaid paper to bring back the red vibrancy of the poinsettias. My favourite part though is the chunky glitter, which I like to add to my vintage designs to give it that old style feel. It reminds me of cards my parents got when we were kids.
