I’ve always struggled a bit with incorporating sentiments on the front of my cards. It always seems to be a bit of an after thought, so I end up sticking a tag or sentiment strip on somewhere. I’m working to try and incorporate my sentiments more in my design, and I really think this card did the trick.
I was directly inspired to create this card by a design from Karen Barber – the original can be seen here. I varied mine, but only slightly, by using a different stamp, sentiment and embellishments. The bright orange of Karen’s originally design was so striking I decided to try it, and the result is stunning.
I also love how you can stretch your stamps by using them slightly off the page, rather than the focal point. It opens up so many new design ideas, that I think you’ll be seeing this technique again.
