There is hot chocolate and a roaring fire waiting for these two when they get to their destination, I just know it!
I saved the best card for last this Holiday season, or at least it’s my favourite. I made this card a little larger than my standard, only because I wanted the size of the sleigh to proportionally match the Stampin’ Up! Woodlands embossing folder.
For this card I embossed the folder with my glue pad ink pad, ran it through my Big Shot, and then sprinkled it with glitter. In retrospect, I will probably alter the way I do this technique in the future. I found there wasn’t quite enough stick with the glue pad to not make the glitter come off if you rubbed it too hard. It could have been a result of my impatience, not waiting for the glue to get sticky enough, you have to let it sit a bit for best results. In future I might just use a thin paint brush and coat the trees with a thin layer of white glue before sprinkling on the glitter.
Once the background was done, I just used a shadow die cut from my Silhouette Cameo on top. I attempted to add a little touch of colour with some blue star ornaments hanging from the trees. My son and husband out voted me with the blue, I wanted red. If I make this card again, I’m going to try the red, I think it will pop more.
