Believe it or not, this card was inspired by a Halloween Card made by Yana Smakula – you can see her version here. I loved how she used the wreath in the background and then added elements to it specific to the season. I decided to do something similar with some valentine card kit elements. While this card could be used for Valentine’s Day, I chose to make it a birthday card instead, with a more generic sentiment.
I didn’t have all the same supplies as Yana had, so I improvised with the stamps and dies I had on hand. I started with the Simon Says Stamp Berry Wreath as my base, jazzing it up with berries cut from pink and white glitter cardstock. Then I stamped, coloured and fussy cut some of the goodies from the Simon Says Stamp Sweet Days stamp set that was part of the February 2023 card kit.
For my card base, I just used a piece of patterned paper from the Simple Stories Sweet Talk paper line (SSSCK February 2021), added my elements, some gems and baubles and a sentiment. It might be a bit on the busy side, but it’s sure to put a smile on your face.
