Fun Halloween stamps, great papers and glitter – what could be a better combination?
I knew I wanted to create a shaker card again this year, so I cut out all my paper pieces, cut out the foam, and dropped in a pile of glitter. Then came the fussy part, figuring out what elements I wanted on the top.
I started by stamping the witch from the Tim Holtz Monstrous stamps onto Spectrum Noir ultra smooth premium white cardstock and colouring her in using my Spectrum Noir markers. I placed her on top of the shaker window, but there was just too much window and not enough stamp, so I decided to cut a web die using my Silhouette Cameo. It provided the perfect background for the stamp but not too much that the glitter doesn’t still shine through. As an added bonus, I popped the witch face up using a wobbler, so she shakes when you flick her chin, just like she is caught in the spider web trying to break free!
Here’s a close-up:

I used an extra thick layer of black foam behind my window, so this card is quite thick (and a bit of a challenge to mail). While I liked the finished product I thought it needed something just a bit extra. That’s when I added the tiny tab in the top right corner and the cheesecloth bits all around the edge. It added just that bit of spooky web or mummy cloth effect to really make this card stand out.
As I said, one of my favs from this Halloween! Happy Halloween everyone and I look forward to next year.
