The Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge for this week was to create something feminine/girly. And while I love to make beautiful, girly cards with flowers and pink papers, I didn’t have anything new in mind that fit the criteria. So, I decided to just flip through my supplies and see if anything jumped out to inspire me.
I started with the Gina K Designs Butterfly Gown Girl die that I bought a while back and never used. I cut it out of a beautiful white shimmer paper from Bazzill and used a bold glitter in behind to show through the butterfly holes. Then I pulled out the Steampunk Wings die from Cheery Lynn and thought, let’s make her an ANGEL!
After that, the card pretty much took on a life of it’s own. White paper, beautiful dies and gold glitter, what could possibly go wrong.
I did struggle a bit picking the background paper. At first I was thinking pink – and it was quite pretty, but when I tried the teal from the DCWV Mariposa Stack the angel just popped off the page and I knew it was the right choice.
I honestly have no idea what I would use this card for, birthday perhaps, or maybe a thank you card. Whatever the occasion though, I think it turned out quite lovely.
