My son is turning 16 this year, so I wanted to make a masculine birthday card. Not the easiest task when you have an over abundance of floral and cute critter stamps. So, I decided to go simple.
I started with a Simon Says Stamp Soft Navy card base. On the front I used the Simon Says Stamp Center Cut Geometric Pattern background stamp, inked in Versamark embossing ink and embossed with Simon Says Stamp Ultrafine Gold embossing powder.
I cut a Happy Birthday sentiment in gold card stock, stacked up with layers for extra texture. And finally, I added just a few gold flat sequins.
My husband felt it was a bit on the dark side, but I really liked it and so did my teenager, so I guess that’s a win!
