Just a Note

This weeks Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge was “Vintage/Past Times”. While I like the look of many vintage projects, I don’t seem to be very good at it myself. This week stumped me. After days of combing through paper and waiting for inspiration to strike, I finally gave up trying and decided to just go simple. It’s so simple in fact, that the paper really does all the work here.

For this card I pulled out the DCWV Performance Stack. It really is a stunning paper collection, I just wish I could have done something more stunning with it. The gold foil accents sprinkled throughout this line is really pretty, and you know I love anything sparkly, so I chose a patterned paper that anchored the design at the bottom of the card. Then I just heat embossed a tiny sentiment on a paper strip, trimmed it and fed it through a co-ordinating ribbon.

It’s a cute card in the end, but not one I will list among my favourites.

Cardstock – Recollections
Patterned Paper – DCWV Performance Stack
Stamp – Unknown
Ink – Distress Ink Tea Dye and Versamark
Embossing Powder – Recollections
Ribbon – Offray

What a lovely card and I’m so proud of you for not giving up when you were stumped. The vintage/sepia look is hard for me, too, so I could really relate to your feelings. But you pulled it off! What a great example of knowing your supplies and letting them shine. This looks incredibly elegant for how simple you say it is. This is beautiful work and I’m so glad you took the time to share it with us for this week’s Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge!
