This card, like so many others, started off much differently. I was actually going to make a funny card about sending a “hot chick” for Easter, but the little chickadee was just too cute, so I went a different route.
I built the background shaker using the egg cutting template from Creative Memories – think wayyyyy back to when they offered hostess templates for their cutting system. It’s been sitting in the drawer, unused, for a very long time.
I adhered my pattered paper from Stampin’ Up to some white 100lb cardstock to make it sturdier. Then I cut out my egg shape, added a layer of foam, and filled it with tiny gold seed beads. Then I adhered him to the card front, which was already covered in a patterned paper from the same Stampin’ Up line.
I added a frame, cut from the same egg cutting plate, but using the different colour blades to get a frame, and added some chevron strips cut using some Fiskars paper edger scissors (another really old tool from my stash).
Finally, I placed my cute little chickadee, which I cut out using my Silhouette Cameo and edged with Stampin’ Up ink to give him dimension, to the bottom left corner. A quick sentiment strip printed from my computer and this little guy was just filled with Happy Easter vibes.
