No, I didn’t make myself a birthday card. BUT… I did get a present. Welcome Spellbinders BetterPress into my craft room.
The first card I decided to make with my new toy is a birthday card for a little guy I know coming up in July. I wanted to use the Friendly Moments BetterPress plate that features Christopher Robin, Winnie the Pooh and Piglet. I must say, it inked up beautifully the first try. If there is ever a tool that doesn’t need a learning curve, this is the one. Fabulous results the first time out.
Now I used the Spellbinders paper that comes with the machine for this. In future, if I’m going to watercolour, I think I’ll try watercolour paper instead. I found this paper didn’t move the colour as much as I would have liked, but that’s not a reflection of the machine at all. It could also be my lack of watercolour experience so…
I used my Karin Brushmarkers to colour in the image, and I really wanted that watercolour look, so I wasn’t concerned about bleed or fade around the edges.
It took some time to colour, but I think it was totally worth it in the end.
