I had purchased some Deco Foil transfer sheets way back of poinsettias printed on acetate. I thought they were beautiful on their own, but foiled they would probably be stunning. However, I’ve never had the best of luck getting the results I wanted from my Minc. Well, I learned a few things making these cards:
First – you’ve got to be willing to sacrifice a bit of product to testing
Second – once you figure out the best settings for different products, write them down
Third – the results are well worth the practice runs
These cards turned out amazing. I obviously started with the foiled acetate, just getting that working was a bit of a challenge. Once I did then I struggled on what background to put behind it. Every patterned paper I tried was just too busy, and a solid cardstock was just too plain. And then I stumbled on it this card by Shemaine Smith that used matching foiled cardstock but embossed to give it texture and visual interest. Huzzah! Amazing results.
Please note, these are not shaker cards, although if someone wanted to make them shakers they certainly could. I thought there was already enough sparkle and shine without adding shaker bits in.
