A Peaceful, Quiet Christmas Scene

I must give credit where credit is due. The design for this card was inspired by Adelle Emery and the card she posted on her blog, the Crafty Dell. My card resembles this design closely, with a few minor changes.

First, I chose to make my card a night scene, so I used darker Distress Oxide inks in the background. I also didn’t have the same “Peace” die that Adelle had, although I love it and really should put it on my wish list. So I used my Silhouette Cameo to cut out my own sentiments.

While I do love this card, there were a few issues I ran into that I wish I had done differently. First, I tried to stamp the word “Christmas” on vellum, but vellum is hard to adhere to anything because the glue or tape often shows through – so…lesson learned there. I also think both rows of the sentiment are too large. But by the time I realized it, I was committed. That said, I still love this stamp set from Simon Says Stamp, and look forward to using it again.
