I love feathers, and have several stamps and dies of different feather types and sizes, and I think they make the most elegant yet simple cards.
This card features the strong bold patterned paper of the DCWV Tradewinds Stack and the feathers are just added as a focal point embellishment. For the back feather I used a two-step stamping technique, stamping the background in a light blue and the veins of the feather in a darker blue color. I love using my Tim Holtz stamping platform for two-step stamping, as it gives me a chance to really line up the image before committing to the ink.
The front feather was just die cut from white cardstock, then tipped with versamark ink using a sponge. Then a coated that area with gold embossing powder and heat set that for the beautiful gold coated embellishment.
