Who doesn’t love ice cream? And as the thermometer starts to climb, there is no better treat than a triple scoop with a cherry on top!
I’ve had my eye on this stamp set for a while, and when it finally came back in stock at Simon Says Stamp I added it to my cart right away. I see a lot of fun cards being made with this set this summer.
The Sunny Studio Two Scoops set is a layering stamp set, meaning you stamp one layer in one colour and then the next stamp right over top of your first layer in a darker shade to create realistic images for your cards. This is my very first layering stamp, and I have to say it’s quite easy to get great results.
I decided to go with the traditional chocolate, vanilla and strawberry cone. I struggled a bit with the vanilla, because I don’t have a super light yellow ink pad, so I only stamped the shadow layer in grey. I think it lacks the outline that gets created from the first layer though – so getting a light yellow ink is on my wish list.
Otherwise, I think this card turned out super fun. I paired it with a patterned paper from the My Minds Eye Lost & Found Madison Avenue collection, and I think it works perfectly. A few iridescent sequins and a sentiment from the same Sunny Studio stamp set and this card is ready to enjoy!
