I fully admit, I’m a scrapbook supplies shopaholic! I love buying new toys and products to play with and as a result, some of my older supplies don’t always get the love and attention they deserve. But what happens when you see a design using a brand new supply that you don’t have and can’t easily get? Well, clearly my creative juices must have been flowing because I got an idea to use something I already had on hand!
Let’s start at the beginning. I was surfing the web and saw a few cards featuring rainbows, many made with a new rainbow die on the market – there are many, rainbows are a pretty hot trend right now. That said, I have no rainbow dies, zero, zilch. But I had the sudden urge to make a card with a rainbow – what’s a girl to do? Well, I decided to cut each arch of the rainbow spectrum using my Simon Says Stamp Stitched Circles dies. Then I cut some clouds out using my Silhouette Cameo and, with some strategic placement, that circle of rings becomes a rainbow!
In the background I used some Strathmore Bristol cardstock to ink blend a sky background, and I added a little glitter around my could edges, just to make it sparkle a bit. I printed my sentiment using a regular inkjet printer, all the while making a mental note that I really need to buy more sentiment stamp sets!
This card was destined for a very special little man having a birthday this month!
