Brutus Monroe came out with a great Halloween/Fall stamp set this year called Scare Crow and I knew I just had to have him. I’m trying to add to my collection of “colouring” stamps, so this was a great addition.
Again, this was another set that was screaming to be made into a scene, so I stamped all my characters onto Spectrum Noir Ultra Smooth cardstock and coloured them using my Spectrum Noir markers. Then I fussy cut him out with a bit of a white border. There are so many tight edges on this stamp that I think he would be hard to close line fussy cut.
Then I did a Distress Ink/Distress Oxide Ink blend on a piece of Strathmore Bristol cardstock. For this scene I used the fence set that came with the stamp set. This one I did fussy cut right up to the line and adhered right on top of my blended background.
Again I used the Sizzix Grass Die, this time in green, just to create a baseline. I thought the whole card had a bit too much space and was in need of a frame. So I grabbed a piece of black Bazzill cardstock and created a frame window using my Simon Says Stamp Stitched Rectangles dies.
Then I popped my scarecrow and his little friends up on some foam tape and placed him on top. I stamped a large Halloween sentiment from the Inkadinkado All Hallows Eve stamp set. But… I needed a little something extra. So I took a bit of raffia I had purchased for Christmas decor and cut little bits off to stuff behind the edges of my scarecrow. It kind of looks like a little bail of hay poking out the back! So much fun!
